Elston is pursuing his Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of the Cumberlands and is completing his practicum and internship at Branches.
Elston’s interest in counseling grew from a desire to better understand people and the experiences that shape the way they think, feel, and respond to life. Through his work as a professional firefighter, he has also seen firsthand how stress, trauma, and difficult life experiences can affect people in very different ways.
These experiences helped lead Elston toward the counseling profession and have shaped his desire to create a comfortable, supportive space where people can talk openly about things they may not always feel comfortable discussing. He values meeting people where they are, listening without judgment, and helping them better understand themselves as they navigate life’s challenges.
While at Branches, Elston is under the supervision of Tracey Moore-Robison, LPC-MHSP, M.Ed., Clinical Director of Branches.
